What is IT?

Tangible Talk Integrative Therapy

Tangible Talk Integrative Therapy is trauma informed practice with a holistic approach to mind body spirit integration and wellness. Weaving together my trainings and experiences in counselling, somatic practices and healing modalities learned through performance, teaching, yoga, dance, shamanism studies, and massage therapy.

Working collaboratively we focus on all aspects of self, helping you to regain emotional, physical and spiritual health and balance.

Everyone’s needs are unique and I honour that by adapting my approach that best fits the moment. I draw on exercises and skills that will support your process, integrating various models of counselling, Somatic Experiencing®, relaxation, movement techniques, art and creative exploration. Helping you find ways of opening up, un-tapping your inner resources, and strengths and integrating ways of fostering creativity.

My Core Approaches

Person Centered

Carl Rogers Person Centered Therapy allows for the client to take lead in their process, of self-discovery and solutions. The role of the therapist is to support, listen and acknowledge the client’s experience with empathy, and understanding. I believe we all have the capacity to heal, and I am here to support you in your process.

 

Somatic Experiencing®

Somatic Experiencing® is a body-oriented approach to the healing of trauma and other stress disorders developed by Dr. Peter Levine. Its slow and gentle approach employs the awareness of body sensations to help renegotiate trauma and the residual impulses of the fight, flight, and freeze response.

SE™ helps to build capacity, resiliency and to restore the natural flow in the nervous system bringing about increased emotional and physical health. As well as treating various forms of trauma, it is very effective in helping depression, anxiety, grief, and chronic illness, pain, stress and burn out.

Somatic Experiencing® helps us to unbind from our past and increase our ability to stay in the present moment, and open up to a future of infinite possibility.

Creative Exploration

Creative Exploration through art, movement and play employs all of the senses giving you the opportunity to explore  and discover your inner and outer worlds in a fun and supportive environment.

This process helps to create a greater sense of self and wellbeing, build better relationships, and increase positivity, empathy and understanding.
